LOVE LIBERATES

There is a kind of love that clutches. It tries to control, protect, and hold on. But there is another kind of love—the kind Maya Angelou learned from her mother—that opens the door and says, “Go become who God created you to be. And if you ever need to come home, you’ll always be welcome.”

That’s not weak love.

That’s liberating love.

Real love doesn’t chain people to us. It gives them the freedom to grow, to fail, to learn, and to return without shame.

As we begin this week, perhaps the greatest gift we can give someone isn’t more advice or tighter control. Perhaps it’s the confidence that they are deeply loved—and the freedom to become all God intends them to be.

Monday Inspiration: Ask yourself, Who in my life needs to experience a love that liberates instead of a love that controls?

Sometimes the most caring thing we can do is open our hands and trust the ever unfolding work in someone else’s life.

Yeah, be a part of THAT!
