JUST A MOMENT: MORE THAN ANOTHER BIRTHDAY

Birthdays are funny.

When we’re five, we can’t wait to be six. At sixteen, we can’t wait to drive. At twenty-one, we can’t wait to celebrate. Then somewhere along the way, we start wondering if it’s possible to quietly skip a few birthdays without anyone noticing.

The candles multiply. The cake seems smaller. The knees make noises that weren’t in the owner’s manual.

But here’s the beautiful part…

A birthday isn’t just proof that we’ve gotten older. It’s proof that we’ve been given another chapter.

Another 365 blank pages waiting to be filled with unexpected laughter, second chances, new friendships, and stories we don’t even know are coming yet.

None of us knows how many birthdays we’ll celebrate. That’s why every one of them is less about counting the years and more about making the years count.

So blow out the candles. Eat the cake. Laugh a little louder than usual. Call someone you’ve been meaning to call. Forgive someone. Thank someone.

And if your knees creak when you stand up, (or in my place get replaced) just tell people that’s the sound of experience.

In JUST A MOMENT: Don’t just celebrate getting older. Celebrate getting another opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter—including your own.
