HELLO, MY NAME IS:
Have you ever noticed how easily we introduce ourselves by our names, but how often we define ourselves by something else?
Regret.
Failure.
Disappointment.
Not good enough.
Too old.
Too late.
We may never say those names out loud, but sometimes we wear them like name tags. We let our mistakes introduce us before anyone gets a chance to know who we really are.
The song “Hello, My Name Is” reminds me that the names we give ourselves aren’t always the names we deserve to carry.
Maybe you’ve made mistakes. Maybe life hasn’t turned out the way you imagined. Maybe you’re still trying to forgive yourself for something that happened years ago.
But what if those things are part of your story without being the whole story?
What if your name is also hope? Or possibility? Or loved?
And what if one of the kindest things we can do for another human being is to see beyond the name they’ve given themselves and remind them of the person they still have the possibility of becoming?
Here’s your Monday reminder: You are not your worst mistake, your hardest day, or the chapter you’d rather forget.
You are a whole person, still growing, still becoming, still worthy of love.
So, if someone asks your name this week, tell them.
But don’t forget to remind yourself who you really are.
And perhaps, along the way, help someone else discover a better name for themselves, too.
Be a Caring Catalyst. Sometimes changing a life begins by helping someone see themselves differently.
